Director General of Agriculture Extension Department Md Tajul Islam Patwari said that the population at the time of independence was 7.5 crore, now it stands at 15 crore. The big challenge of providing food to this huge population has been accepted by the agriculture department and is continuing to implement it. The aim of the present government is to develop export-oriented smart agriculture. The Department of Agricultural Extension is working towards that goal. Quoting the Hon'ble Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister, he said, it is possible to transform into profitable agriculture only if the farmers are kept in the field. He called on the newly joined Assistant Agricultural Officers to work for the improvement of the standard of living of the farmers as well as the gift of sustainable agriculture to the farmers through the use of technology, improved varieties and modern market management. . The director general said this while inaugurating the two-day training of assistant agricultural officers at the training hall of the additional director's office in Jessore region on September 9. Agronomist Md. Abu Hossain, additional director of the Jessore region of the Department of Agriculture, presided over the event. He gave a welcome speech at the training.
